Top 5 performances we have had at the Valley Community Theatre!

In no particular order.

1. Mother Goose

Mother Goose was a performance we had at the Valley Community theatre back in 2021 from Friday 17th December to Sunday the 19th. Adapted by Tom McLennan, Mother Goose was a family pantomime based on the fable of the goose with the golden egg which was originally created by Aesop, a slave and storyteller who lived in ancient Greece between 620 and 564 BCE. Aesop was famous for his fables he created such as the goose with the golden egg, which you can read about here. Mother Goose was a fantastic pantomime we had here at the Valley Community Theatre.

2. Babes In The Wood

Babes in the wood was a performance we had at the Valley Community theatre back in 2023 from Friday 17th January to Sunday the 15th. Adapted by Tom McLennan, the Theatre’s in-house adult drama group, helped update the play, with characters such as the Sheriff of Netherley and Sir Guy of Gateacre, not to mention Robin Hoody and his “scally mates”. They added some romance between Robin and the delectable Maid Marion Fitzdangle as well as the traditional yarn about two children, their wicked stepdad, and the mad but loveable school mistress, Dame Edwina Whackemhard, creating a great family show and a memorable performance at the Valley Community Theatre.

3. ‘This girl’- the Cynthia Lennon story

This Girl was a performance we had at the Valley Community theatre back in 2023 from Friday 21st April to Sunday the 23rd. This Girl told the story of John and Cynthia Lennon’s relationship, from them meeting as teenagers in 1957 to showing how Beatlemania caused their divorce. Focusing on the point of view of Cynthia it was an amazing performance to have attended at the Valley Community Theatre.

4. Relatable

Relatable was a performance we had at the Valley Community theatre back in 2023 on the Friday 29th September and was performed by the Valley Community Youth Theatre. Relatable was about human connection and the various ways we relate to one another. Relatable was an entertaining and educational performance on all the ways we connect with others which made it a fantastic performance at the Valley Community Theatre.

5. We’re all Scrooged

We’re all Scrooged was a performance we had at the Valley Community theatre this year 2024. It took place from Friday February 2nd to Friday February 3rd. Directed by Tammy Holland this performance was a retelling of the classic story with a Scouse twist. Scrooged was a fun performance complete with songs and comic madness. Scrooged was a fun and entertaining performance at the Valley Community Theatre.
