Waiting For Brando The play is set in December 1953 .In a dockside bar in Hoboken, New Jersey, two young Merchant Seamen from Liverpool are drinking away an afternoon before their ship sails for home. Meanwhile, in a New York studio, legendary director Elia Kazan, haunted by his decision to ‘name names’ at Senator Joe McCarthy’s anti-communist ‘witch-hunt’ hearings, and by the subsequent break-up of his partnership with playwright Arthur Miller, is working on the screenplay for On the WaterFront – the film that will truly launch Marlon Brando’s star.

Loyalties and friendships are tested in this fast tale of brotherhood and betrayal, secrets and showdowns. And all the time, Brando waits for his moment….
